Bed Bugs- How To Control Them Using Crossfire Insecticide

Bedbugs are horrible, obligate parasites that feed on your blood and leave your skin with itchy bites. Although they are not known to spread or transmit diseases, these pests can cause other public health issues which include physical and mental health. These pesky bugs are hard to find and identify because of their really bad habit of staying hidden.  Unfortunately, many people still can’t identify bedbugs because they don’t really know what a bedbug looks like.

How to Identify Bedbugs

Knowing what a bedbug looks like and identifying it, is the first step to control bedbugs. You must know what kind of bug you’re dealing or is it the right bug or not? I’m sure you wouldn’t want to spend your hard-earned money on costly treatments only to find out that you got the wrong bugs. There are many bugs that are almost similar to bedbugs such as bat bugs, swallow bug, poultry bug, and others. Bedbugs are small, oval and brown in color, about the size of an apple seed (5-7 mm). The body is flat and oval-shaped, however after eating their bodies swell and turn reddish in color. On the other hand, young bedbugs called nymphs are pale yellow in color, translucent and small. The eggs of bedbug are about the size of a pinhead and white in color.

How to Find Bedbugs – Inspection

If you are suspecting an infestation, it is best to find it early before its too late. Detecting an infestation is difficult, firstly, because of their diminutive size. Secondly, bedbugs are experts at being stealthy and quiet. Lastly, they like to stay hidden.

To identify an infestation, it is important to look for visible signs. Bedbugs, no matter how stealthy they are, always leave behind dark spots which are due to excrement. While cleaning or changing sheets, you may find rusty stains on your mattress or fabric. This is the sign of crushed bedbugs.

Bedbugs’ Hiding place

Human warmth and carbon dioxide attract bedbugs to humans. Their hiding place can be located 1 to 2 meters away from the sleeping host. They usually come out of their shelters only when its meal time for them that is during the wee hours. When not drinking blood, they hide in a variety of places such as around bed, near seams, mattresses, etc. bedbugs can easily squeeze into tiny hiding spots because of their teeny tiny size. Their favorite hiding places are in the seams of chairs, couches, folds of the curtain, at the junction of ceiling and roof. Mattress, furniture, cracks of bed frames and headboards are also included.

Bedbug Bites

So many people mistaken bedbug bite for a mosquito bite or any other skin condition. Bedbug bites are usually seen in clusters containing 3 to 5 bites in an irregular pattern. You must see a doctor if you have many bites on your skin or when you notice any blister or infection after being bit by bedbug.  There are some home remedies as well such as washing the bite with soap and water and applying a cream containing corticosteroid.

Treatments to control bedbugs

You can not get rid of bedbugs without any strategy and the right products. There are multiple methods to remove them from your house once they have infested. Most people take professional help to control bedbugs but, trust me the treatments are expensive, and they can cause you thousands of dollars. There is chemical treatment, cold treatment, freeze treatment, and steam treatments. Except for chemical treatment, all other treatments require professional equipment. Heat, cold and steam treatments, all of them are costly and less affected as they are unable to treat the infestation entirely.

Chemical Treatment Using Crossfire

If you cannot afford to hire a professional to get rid of the annoying bugs, we recommend the best product ever to remove bedbugs from your house without having to worry about re-infestation. Crossfire concentrate is liquid, a water-based insecticide that controls and kills the bedbug population effectively in both residential and commercial buildings and structures. This product not only kills bedbugs but nymphs and eggs as well.

What to Look for When Buying a Good Insecticide

There are many insecticides out there and all of them work differently. They have different modes of action, different chemical combinations. So, which one should you buy? When buying an insecticide, there are few things that you must keep in your mind, so you don’t end up spending money in vain. Firstly, be specific about what kind of pests you are dealing with because you don’t want your insecticide to kill other beneficial insects as well. Secondly, a good insecticide will have a residual effect. In other words, the chemical residue should stay for long after spraying once. Lastly, transfer effect – the toxicants from the insecticide is transferred from one bedbug to another. A good insecticide for bedbugs will have all these properties.

Why Crossfire Is the Best Insecticide?

Crossfire is a next-generation insecticide that effectively removes bedbug infestation and prevents re-infestation. It kills all bedbug life stages from eggs to adults when it comes in contact and even prevents the eggs to hatch. It is formulated to target pyrethroid-resistant bedbugs.  Following are the reasons why we vote for crossfire as the best ever insecticide:

  1. Using Crossfire will reduce the overall cost.
  2. Once sprayed, it could lasts for one year.
  3. Immediately kill bedbugs within 5 minutes of contact.
  4. It can be directly applied to the mattress.
  5. Stains and residue-free.
  6. Residual and transfer effect.

Boric Acid Vs Crossfire:

Another chemical that has been used for years to treat bedbug infestation is Boric acid. Although boric acid is the most common and cheap treatment, its efficacy is not known. Even some professional pest control advisors recommend not to use boric acid at all. Boric acid is the not solution for bedbug infestation because it only kills bedbugs when they eat it. This sounds impossible – as we already know that bedbugs feed only on human blood. There is minor to serious toxicity present in boric acid which is, obviously, not good for your health as well as your pet’s.

On the other hand, Crossfire is the total opposite of boric acid. It works like magic and keeps bedbugs away from your house. It will only cost you less than 100 dollars and will yield 1 gallon of prepared diluted liquid. it easily and effectively kills bugs within a few minutes of contact and transfers the residues to other bugs as well, killing even more bugs.

Preparation and Application:

The preparation of Crossfire is very simple and easy. All you have to do is just add 13oz of Crossfire liquid and 1 gallon of water in a pump sprayer and its ready. As easy as ABC isn’t it? One bottle of 13oz crossfire will treat about 1000 square feet. Usually, one bottle will be more than enough, but if you have a bigger house you may need an additional or a larger bottle of the crossfire. Now that you have prepared the mixture it’s time for application. Remember to use the mixture within 24 hours after you have mixed it. Spray generously in harborage areas such as cervices baseboards, behind bed frames, headboards, beneath beds and furniture. Your bed should be your number one priority when it comes to spraying the mixture. Since you can directly apply the product to your mattress, make sure you apply it thoroughly until its damp but not wet. Pay special attention to seams, folds, tufts, and edges as well as bed frames and box springs.

Crossfire is the best insecticide for bedbugs so far. It is the only product that has residual effect as well as transfer effect which helps eradicate bedbugs quickly and prevents them from infesting again. It quickly knocks down pests and its effect stays for as long as 30 days. Bedbugs infestation can really be a nuisance if not handled promptly and immediately. Save yourself some hundreds of dollars and purchase crossfire. Trust me, you will never have to worry about bed bugs again.
